Our One Day Camping Experience..

Well, here I am!! This is my first summer post from the beautiful Colorado! Yes.... I made it... I didn't get lost in the forest... :)  I say this because for the first time, me and my husband decided to break our 18 hours usual road-trip {from Cali to Colo}spending one night in tent!!! I think it was a great idea because we all had a blast!
We are not campers, we have 0 experience. The only two times we went camping in the past we were with friends who put up the tent for us, cooked for us, brought all the tools and food... basically everything. This time it was just us. It was our adventure.
We found a camping ground on Lake Tahoe {huuuge lake!! so gorgeous!}, we built our tent and made the fire. I cooked sausages, fresh corn, melted fresh mozzarella and in the morning I even made espresso!! Everything on our camp-fire... so much fun!
We will definitely do it again... it's also much cheaper than to spend a night in a hotel, as we usually do.
Here's some of the pictures I took:

Hope you're having a great week-end!!

Christmas Break

Yes!! Today is the last day of school for my children! I have to say that they love going to school, their teachers are great, we are very blessed. I remember when I was their age I used to whine many times in the morning and ask my parents if I could stay home, that never happened with my children so far. It means they are happy.
Yesterday we went to their "Christmas Sing-along".. super cute! Especially my youngest daughter, with her 1st grade little friends.. she had an excited look on her face that was just priceless.
I'm glad to be able to spend some time with them though... even if they drive crazy after 2 minutes!! haha :)
I want to show you the presents I made for their sweet teachers... they are so sweet that I couldn't not give them some very sweet treats.. and of course... a mug-cozy each!!

And this is how I wrapped them.. {thank you Dollar Store!! you are the best!!} :)

Well, I hope they like them. It's just a little thank-you from me for all they do. ;)

I wish you all a peaceful and beautiful Christmas Break!!!!

Visiting a good Friend and her lovely Shop♥

Just So You Know... I made it back to California!! It took us 2 days {tot. 18 hours drive}, we stopped in a Hotel in Salt Lake City to rest one night.. we couldn't stand to sit in the car any longer!
I had a great vacation and now we are getting ready for school.. before I blog about that, I want to share with you about a fun day I spent at my great friend Lisa's house. She's also known as Beadsoul. She has an incredible shop on Etsy and I took a few pictures of her brand new studio!!

Week~End in Nature

Wow! I haven't written in a while! It's because I'm very busy enjoying my vacation time here in Colorado. :)
I just came back from an incredible camping trip with my family and some very good friends. We all had a great time! We really camped with tents and cooked on the camp-fire.. roasted marsh-mallows on a stick... washed our face in the creek.. fallen asleep listening to the sounds of the forest. We lived an adventure! My children were especially excited to be surrounded by Nature.. what a beautiful gift has been this week-end..
I want to share with you just a few pictures I took and end this post with a quote by George Washington Carver.. Until next time!!

*I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.*

So Much To Do.

My vacations are going to begin soon!!! Like every year we go spend summer in Denver~CO, our american home-town. The kids are all excited because most of their friends live there.. and mine too!! :)
Before leaving, though, I always want to clean clean clean.... the thing that for me takes most of my cleaning time is THE LAUNDRY!! I have an old and half-broken washer, and unlike most of the american people, I don't have a dryer.. so, I have to pretend to be in Italy {which I don't mind at all} and hang all my laundry waiting for the wind and the sun to dry it. :)

I also have to pack everybody's clothes and wash a mountain of dishes.. I like washing dishes, it's my second favorite chore after cooking.. is cooking even considered a chore?? For me it's more like a fun pleasure ;)

What's your favorite chore?
Next time I'll post something it will be from Denver, God willing... I'll talk to you then!!
..this is how "Laundry Day" looks like in my beautiful country..

My hometown: Lecce, Italy.

What to do on a California gloomy and rainy afternoon? I just think of the beautifully Sunny Italy!! Well, it's actually very snowy right now! But I'm not there at the moment, so I cannot really picture the snow... everytime I go {which is ALAS very rare} it's summer time! My thoughts go back to my beautiful town: Lecce. It's located deep down in the heel of the "boot" (you know Italy is shaped like a boot, right?).

I used to take the longest walks, which is something normal to do, in the Old Town. Some of the streets are so narrow and contorted, but always cheery, thanks to all the Barocco decorations on all the old buildings and Churches.
In the main square, called Piazza Sant'Oronzo, it's where people usually meet late in the evening to start all the social nocturnal activities... especially walking through the town while talking, eating a gelato and saying hi to all the passers-by. :) St. Oronzo is the Patron Saint of the town, his statue is elevated high on top of an ancient roman pillar, he guards and protects the whole city from up there.

What I miss the most is the morning breakfast: a cup of Cappuccino with a cornetto (a type of croissant filled with delicious pastry cream, or chocolate cream), typical from Lecce. mmmmm... so good!!!! Here's a picture from one of the most famous cafes:

And last but absolutely NOT least........ the Sea!!!! Mare. There is no words to describe it.. just look at the pictures. I REALLY miss my Sea, especially my beach. :)
Enjoy!!
