Feature Post: meet Kayla from LoveSparklePretty {Giveaway!}

Oh how I love finding new shops online {especially on Etsy.com, my favorite place to shop handmade!}! I have written a few posts about different cute finds. Today I have for you a little interview to introduce you to Kayla! The owner and lovely girl behind the adorable Etsy Shop: LoveSparklePretty.
Bridal Bow - White Birdcage Veil and Lace
I don't know about you, but I love everything girlie, sparkly and pretty.. just like everything she makes and sells in her shop. This is what I ask her to share with us:

-Please tell us who you are.

My name is Kayla (a.k.a. wife and mommy) and I blog over at Love Sparkle Pretty. I share my love for "pretty" things with DIY projects, wedding/event planning, floral design, styled photo shoots, bridal pieces, event décor and lots of inspiration! I love to find beauty in simplicity and magnifying it! I believe in following your dreams no matter how crazy they may seem because God gave you your gifts and talents for a good reason.

-When did you start creating your beautiful Hair Accessories?
When I got married to my wonderful husband in 2010, I created flower hairpieces for my bridesmaids as well as many other details for the big day. It all really started there! I opened up my Etsy shop and created pieces part time while going to nursing school, work, starting a family and everything in between. I ultimately left work and nursing school to do what I am really passionate about and work full time on growing Love Sparkle Pretty. I am currently enrolled in a floral design class, I will be working on a certificate for wedding/event planning and I have been working with more photographers to create visions for their shoots. It's been quite an adventure and I love it!

-What is your inspiration?
I think my initial inspiration is rooted from my grandmother who has always been so creative. When I was younger, I would go with her to all of her craft shows and I loved it! Now, when I get inspiration to create new pieces, it seems to hit me in all sorts of ways. For example, I can be inspired by just sketching ideas in a notebook, looking through magazines, strolling antique shops, playing with different fabrics, browsing blogs, and even just sitting under a tree in silence. When an idea for a project tugs at my heart, it's a pretty amazing feeling and I don't want to ever lose that!

-What else do you like to do for fun?
I love to spend time with my little family and take walks, watch movies, and play board games. Snowboarding is a favorite past time in the winter and sticking my toes in the sand is a must in the summer. If I get "alone time," usually you can find me sipping a hot soy chai, strolling antique shops, and frolicking through aisles and aisles of fabric…is that weird? J

-Tell me one funny thing about you.
Well, it's not so "funny" to me but to my husband, he finds it hilarious. My second toe is longer than my big toe (like quite a bit longer). I think it's pretty normal but others have made comments about it. I just say, "it means I'm intelligent!" lol

-Tell me one of your dreams.
If you mean a future goal of mine then I definitely have an answer! J I would LOVE to open a sweet little boutique with beautiful gardens where you can have tea parties, weddings, bridal showers, and other lovely celebrations. This same boutique would be my wedding and event planning "home" that also showcases many of the designs and creations made by me. One day…

Thank you Kayla for sharing with us a little about you!! And thank you for giving one lucky reader the opportunity to win one of your gorgeous headbands! Precisely the Red Blooming Headband!! Perfect color and style for a lovely Valentine's Day {and any other occasion!!}...

Shabby Chic Market Bag

What a beautiful day!!!
My children just came back from their first day of school and they are so happy and full of enthusiasm! I spent the whole morning by myself with my 3 year old son {SO disappointed to have "nobody to play with"..}. Last year we home-schooled them.. I don't know how we did it! It has been a good experience in many ways, but I see their need to socialize and be with other children. Just look at them right now!! :)

Yesterday I spent the whole afternoon finishing to sew this Market Bag for my Etsy Shop. I designed it.. completely made it up.. and I think the result is not too bad...

What do you think?

Talk to you soon!!

Vintage Lovely Girls.

Hello everyone!!! I made it safely to Denver, my husband's hometown! I'm very happy to be able to spend the summer here.. I will probably write something about this beautiful city in one of my next posts..

Today I want to share with you a few pictures from one of my favorite Vintage Shops on etsy: NaturePoet.
Mary, the owner, has a great taste for unique and selected items. I love the images she sells, I will share with you those I like the most.

First of all.. the pretty Lady with the Umbrella. Look how gorgeous she looks! I saw her yesterday in my "etsy feed" and I had the inspiration to write about this shop. It looks like she just came out of the movie "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn.. :)

Lady with Umbrella

This girl is just so sweet. I love her perfectly curled hair and the red poppies on her hat! Isn't she gorgeous?

Lady Beautiful Hat with Poppies

And another beautiful girl.... she reminds me of Kate Winslet in Sense and Sensibility, one of my favorite actresses and movies ever. I like her big pink bow and the pretty ring on her pinky finger. She's adorable!♥

Beautiful Lady in Hat

Last but not least... the Tulip Fairy!!!! I LOVE her! She's part of a collection of "Flower Fairies".. I know that because some dear Italian friends have a few old plates on their dining room's wall portraying these pretty fairies... I remember I used to stare at them and look at all the cute details.

Tulip Fairy

Well, I just want to thank Mary, from NaturePoet for allowing me to write about her beautiful shop!!! I hope you all go check it out.. there is much more than this!!!!! Enjoy!!!

I'm talking about Georgianna, incredibly talented photographer who lives in the wooded wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. She sells on Etsy, but you can reach her in different ways. These are all her info:

My Inspiration Board

Today I decided to participate to an "Inspiration Linky Party"...! The invitation came from "DondaLee's", one of my favorite blogs! Anyone can participate, we are simply sharing what are the things that inspire us the most and pin them on a virtual inspiration board. These are some of mine:

  1. My morning Coffee. I cannot live without my caffe'latte* in the morning {*strong Italian espresso mixed with hot milk and sugar}, I've always had it.. it gives me all the energy I need and it's my moment of comfort and reflection, just me and my big mug. :)
  2. Nature, especially flowers. I'm so blessed, I live in a tiny house surrounded by a huge yard, with grass, flowers, trees, vegetables, fruit... under the big blue sky of California! I have the whole of Nature at my house! It inspires me everyday.
  3. Among the creatures of Nature..the one that I love the most is the Ladybug {or Ladybird...it depends if she lives in England or USA}. :) I find myself, almost everyday, telling my children...especially the boys...to be nice to the pretty ladybugs. ♥ You can find ladybugs all over my yard and my shop.
  4. The color PINK and everything that is Princess looking, glittery, elegant and beautiful.
  5. Colorful Ribbons! I can never have enough!! I like especially the silky ones.. my Grandma used to collect them.. they make me think of her, and they are just so pretty! I use them for anything..
There is many other things that give me inspiration, I guess these were the first that came in mind. It would be nice to see also what inspires you!! Just leave a link in one of the comments or go visit DondaLee's beautiful blog!! She is also a big inspiration!!
